Got a family holiday in France coming up. Staying near Landudec in Brittany. Are there any decent trail centres in the area. I am spoiled by having FOD 30 minutes from me. Would prefer more trail riding than downhill and uplift type thing.

Would rather be at a trail centre where others are around than riding somewhere no other people are likely to be. This is because I knocked myself out on a solo ride last year (thankfully came to quickly but smashed teeth and had concussion for a few weeks) so am a little more risk averse these days.

Any suggestions?

Sorry nothing direct to recommend, but Brittany is fab with lots of small paths, tracks and quiet roads to link things up. I realise it doesn't really answer your question but there is lots to explore. I use Komoot (not the greatest) and Trailforks to show me were people are riding (at least roughly). Enjoy.

plenty here:

Not that I've done much so can't tell you about the centres described on the link, brittany being pretty big.

a few years since I've been but we holidayed a fair bit in the Audierne area and I'd always take bikes for the xc type riding on waymarked trails - leaflets from local tourist info and online - round the point du raz peninsula mainly (as per the link) and locals in the woods stuff on the hill at locronan, sort of stuff I'd mainly do with my boys. Hey ho.

It's known for its roadbiking more than mtb I think, but whatever Brittany's brilliant.
