Iv decided to go with these for my insurance, but when advising the cost of the bike to insure do you go by what the price was when new?

For instance, my bike a 2014 Whyte G150 the works, upgraded (New Fox 36, and Stans Flow EX Wheels) I would be guessing I would be putting the value of my bike at around at the original cost.

Or do you have to factor age into it? Also are original receipts essential as bought the frame 2nd hand?

Ask them? Probably new price but they'll know for sure.

Cost to replace with new would be what i'd want to be insured for.

I know you've said your settled on BC but I would highly recommend having a look at Bikemo+ link.

I found they were significantly cheaper even after the BC members discount for equivalent cover. I gave then a call about the 2nd hand thing and it was fine, new for old cover, doesn't matter how you bought it, you just insure it up to the value to replace as new.

You can also get a little extra saving if you take out the policy using the 'boughtbymany' site.
