Yesterday I was dropped at the top of the Col du Granon, and descended to Granon via an initially virtually non existent trail. The trail must never get ridden, and hardly ever walked. From Granon i took the Sentier des Anciens through the Bois de l'Infernet, eventually descending to the northern end of Le Rosier. Again, an excellent trail, blemished slightly by a couple of tree harvest chaos/destruction zones that made navigation challenging. I bottled one of the death-zags.
I have also enjoyed the descent through the Grand Bois from Puy St Vincent, via Narreyroux, and plan to drop from just below the summit of Col d'Izoard to Chateau Queyras.
Does anyone else have any tips for drop off rides to do whilst my wife and kids gorge on ice cream?
There are a couple of 'maps' you can download here, although there are more in the 'there's a trail that goes somewhere over there'
Have you tried the bike shops in St. Chaffery / Salle les Alpes?
There's the bike park on the other side of the valley - that kept me occupied for a morning (until my arms fell off) and we hardly scratched the surface of what was there
