You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Off to Bluestone on Friday for a family weeks break, going to head up to Brechfa one of the days and ride the red and black together.
I can see where they link together, but the question is which way works the best - start with the red, or start with the black? Anyone got any useful opinions?
Thanks in advance
From memory last year, the red is a different car park the the black. We stopped in a cottage just down the road.
Where they meet leaves only the last descent on the red if you do red, black, red.
IMO the black is all climb/ drop and not much prolonged fun. The blue is very good but so is the red.
Not much help i know
We started on the red, the split is just before the end of the red (from what I remember) and going red, black, red worked well. Not done it the other way though. FWIW I enjoyed the black and the red.
The link (Just before the final descent in the red) is on the official map see/download here:

Thanks, got the PDF trail maps, was just wondering which way would be more enjoyable, red first or black first. As per chvck says, think I'll start on the red, give the legs time to warm up for the black climbs 🙂
Cheers!
