Yet another failed attempt to bleed my front Guide RE. Rear's lovely, but I can never get the front bled properly. It always feels soft and lever comes back too much compared to the rear. I'm using the Epic Bleeding Solutions kit and instructions.
Any thoughts other than Murray is a ham fisted fool? 🙂
You should probably bleed your brakes instead of your breaks.
If you spill some fluid it will ruin your decks...
Are you winding the lever in to the specified point (75-80mm I think)? If not it can obstruct internal ports and so it bleeding correctly.
Doddy does a really good video on it. Worked for me. Two syringes, bleed top to bottom etc
I do very similar to Doddy's video but tend to go bottom to top as air tends to rise easier than fall.
I'm not an expert but if I take my time and plunge each syringe a few times and then pull the plungers a few times, it does seem to do the trick. I then fill the system up from the bottom and then seal the system at the lever before disconnecting the caliper syringe and closing the nipple.
My lever is already further away than the recommended distance so that is already sorted.
Saying all that, I did forget to retract the pistons on my last bleed, so I've replaced the pads now and the wheels won't spin due to excessive brake rub! Getting better as things wear in but my thighs are burning just keeping the bike moving forward!
Also, I'm sounding like some sort of pro at this but if you check my last few threads I've started they have all been on my thoughts on how to bleed to improve the feel of my lever...I think I've worked it out almost completely now, just need to solve the rubbing pads bit!

In my experience, being too far out was the problem.

You've probably overfilled them. Take out the bleed screw in the lever and then push the pistons back - any excess will come out of the lever port. Replace the screw and clean of the (corrosive) excess at the lever.

Lord, I couldn't ride a bike messed up like that.😁
