Anyone going?

This is the only round I am free to enter this year, so put my name down for the 4hour SS category..

Was really looking forward to it despite a year of reduced riding/fitness... Then of course the winter bugs hit!

I'm just dealing with (probably getting over) a cough/sore throat from hell.... am still HOPING to make it on sunday - will see how wheezy I am tomorrow!
Any regulars going?

I'm supposed to be, but my car is in the garage so I will have to investigate whether train travel is an option. Failing that it might have to be a gentle 30km warmup ride, a 4 hr race, and a 30 km warmdown....

I haven't done a Brass Monkeys race before. Is there a pit area where I can leave a bag of clothing, nutrition, water etc in relative safety and access it during the race? Not planning on leaving anything of any value in it, but if someone robs me of my train ticket home, post race food, and a dry set of clothes, it will spoil my day!

I had a plan to enter, fixed up the XC full sus...and then remembered I had become fat and lazy this year.

But I'm sure I'll have that sorted for 2025.

Another possible maybe here. The winter stomach bug hit hard after boxing day followed by a poxy head cold but im paid up so may go and just ride it as its a new venue.

If anyone finds my soul, can I have it back please? Will probably be in the bottom of the puddle(s) of doom along with my rear brake pads.

Seriously though, what a brilliant new venue and course. Puddles aside, the singletrack sections were so fast and flowing and ☀️☀️☀️.

Cheers!!!

initially thought I’d get in 7 laps, but the track got worse and slower (i.e I got worse and slower!) but happy with 6 laps on the SS!

We'll be over watching. Son is doing the 2 hour as first race after busting his hand.  He'd previously planned to do the series.

I’ll be there - 2hr old man cat for me, looking forward to it. Had a rubbish series - didn’t finish the first one as I was ill and missed the second one as bike was broken, so it’s all on this one!

Another 2 hr older guy cat here. Last years R3 seemed to be very popular.

Have fun all! I've got my kids the first and third rounds, so won't be making it... Hope it's dry!

It was!

Very fast and close racing in the 3hr Grand vets today, felt like spring once it warmed up! Such a great course.

It was lovely! Great course, really good fun and the weather was perfect! The big yellow sphere in the sky was doing its thing!

My race was mediocre at best, struggled with Asthma today and ran out of gas, but got to the end in 27th. Disappointed with the result but loved the ride!

Oh and someone called me out - assume it was one of you guys? I was too knackered to give any kind of understandable response!

Our son seems to have recovered after his busted hand... go 4 laps in on the  2 hour race. A lovely day and a good turn out. Shot some Gopro video but that's got to be edited etc.

A great course and nice and dry. A nice change from the winter clay local to me. I think that down hill mass start could do with a bit of a rethink as it got a bit spicy also there was a few late arrivals looking for a position at the pointy end. Apart from that it was another great series.
My legs were shot from the start so 26th for me, was hoping for mid teens position.

I finally got my bit of video edited, rendered and uploaded to Youtube.... I hope I may have captured a few people from here.

Gutted I couldn't do this one. Ankle surgery hasn't worked out for me - making the problem worse and missing the whole series for the first time (other than lockdown) since 2012. Looked a great course.
