Just fitted a brand new Brand X dropper and there is a small bit of sideways play . Is this normal?  My years old Gravity dropper doesn't move at all.

Is there an adjuster or does it need to go back?

Lateral or rotational? Both of our new ones had a bit of rotational (like, a weeny bit) when new but no lateral.

Rotational. If it’s normal that’s good.

Sounds find to me. If it gets significantly worse over time then it might need looking at.

Yeah its normal. All the cable operated droppers I've had have some degree of lateral play, usually a couple of millimetres or so.

My current Brand X has really minimal play. My older Giant dropper post moved quite a bit and became quite noticeable after a year.

Both of mine have a little bit of play. They are 3 years old and it hasn’t worsened so hopefully yours will be ok.

Same with all of mine. My first one got quite bad, asked CRC and they replaced it with no fuss. I was actually asking about the availability of spares.
