My 170mm brand X dropper is no longer fully extending. It stops about half way, and needs pulling back up to full extension. It's set at the correct pressure.

So is this a warranty job (cartridge issue) or a simple service issue?

Been harking on for years at their reliability too 🙄

Have you took it apart, cleaned and regreased?

Topped up the pressure? They do lose a bit over the long term.

If it's in warranty, then just send it back for a new one.

Does doing the service yourself void the warranty though...? That's my next port of call.

Last time I saw this, it just needed the too bushing cleaned and regreased. Didn't even remove the post from the frame.

I haven’t had to do anything on my brand x droppers before, but my Oneup one has the same cartridge inside as far as I’m aware. It started to slow down on the return and only just make it to the top a while back. After a bit of Googling I unscrewed the top cap (with the post down) then extended the dropper. This pulls out the white bushing at the top of the post. It was quite dirty in there used the top seal so I cleaned it out and regreased it (slick honey). Reassembled and it’s been perfect since.

Just service it ready for a ride tomorrow, and nope, still not returning. Also dropping pressure when adding air.

Now off to the lbs to buy another and will ask CRC for a warranty on this one....
