Hey, I've just finished building my brand new 2011 yeti 575 frame up and I've been riding it for about two weeks now, my question is. Why has the front shock bushing started to creak already? Everything is still nice and right I check it after every ride. If it makes a difference my shock is set on pro pedal 3 and 180 psi. Any help would be great. Cheers Rob
Creak is more likely from bearings than shock bush.
you could drop the shock out and re-grease everything.
but the bearings can feel ok but can be overtightened when fitting
Leku, I've posted a thread on there too. Sancho, you think if I slacken the Allen bolts a bit it will stop it?
that is a good point, you mean the little ones on the dog bone
yes be very careful as they need very little torque and if you take the front bolt out of the shock and feel how the movement of the bearings is affected by the tightening of these bolts you will be surprised, as new bearings can feel really notchy very easily.
with the front shock disconnected you can feel how all the bearings feel and here you can check for play and for lumpy bearings.
