Are Zees a worthwhile upgrade from SLX?

Not tried SLXs - have Zees and have had a bit of a time with them 🙁

Great breaks, have 2 sets - on a DH bike a 4X bike. Make sense on the DH, but overkill on the 4X - very powerful!

However... have had 4 levers and 1 caliper replaced due to leakiness, few days ago had them bled at a reputable LBS, the right lever reservoir is now leaking.

Maybe just bad luck, but it's beginning to piss me off.

Edit: I'd still rather have them than Avids

Weird!! I've never had any problems with Shimano brakes.

Thanks for the feedback.

Cannot recommend Zees enough, haven't had any leaking issues either - so much more power than the Formula RXs that came, as standard, on my Mondraker Summum.

My brother runs Deores and I run Zees. Quite different feeling brakes, the Zees are more progressive compared to the Deores direct 'grabby' feel. Only on proper prolonged DH stuff would I say the Zees are worth the extra, if it's just for mucking about in the woods I'd spend the cash elsewhere.
