Can't decide what to do...
Currently have 2012 xt brakes on the Soda that have been a true "fit and forget" item, never let me down once and I've got on well with the instant power from them.
Fitted some M785 versions to my Gyro hoping for the same experience and it's been far from it. The front has just never worked properly. I've not tested it yet, but if think a seal has gone and it's leaking fluid. New pads worked ok for a ride, cleaning and sanding the disc does little either.
The choice as I see it has three options:
- buy a replacement xt caliper
- buy a zee caliper and try that for a bit more power
- buy some Hope Evo e4/x2 brakes to try.
I've not run hopes for years so can't really remember what they are like though! The problem with just another caliper is that I've lost confidence in them now.
Any thoughts?
Get a 785 front that works?
2 year warranty, send them back?
Not sure if I bought them from the uk or not, will need to check.
