Currently running Avid Elixir 5 brakes on my alpine 160, enjoyed them had no probs, just looking for something better now " more downhill " side of things. i feel they are too weak for what i am doing and need some better stoppage power!
looking towards the shimano end of the brakes as i heard they are strong and a good reliable brake, shoot me with some ideas thanks, alpine 160 with a cane creek rear.
Zee brakes might suit, SLX if you want cheaper, Saint if you're flush.
Older M810 Saint on offer at bike-components.de, have never let me down.
slx ones do look pretty good, anyone got these? tell me more about them.
Hope M4!

had them. they worked as you'd expect shimano offerings to, i.e. brilliantly. the GF didn't manage to overheat them like she did the Avids they replaced. wanted them on my bike, but my hoses were to short for her frame so she got them. bike got stolen a month or so after fitting them 🙁
would buy again.
cheapest i've found so far... 115€ for front and back. 16€ for postage to the UK
cheers apin, sorry to hear about stolen bike, bastards 🙁 where u found em at that price buddy ?
lol wouldent know where to start with that site, ive seen em on crc 85 a brake though
