Hi all.
I've finally given up trying to get my XT brakes to work to an acceptable level. The brakes are 4 or so years old with Shimano rotors (the ones with the alloy spider).
I've just picked up a set of Hope Tech 4 brakes dirt cheap, again a good few years old but my experience of Hope brakes has generally been that they're plenty powerful and easy to bleed etc.
Question is, can I just carry on using my existing rotors? New calipers are point mount too so was just going to unbolt the existing calipers, bolt on the new ones and assume everything will line up.
As long as the hope calipers don't fowl the shimano adaptors I don't see why not.
As long as you're doing like for like (180/203) then they'll fit, they both have similar minimum thickness levels, which most people wouldn't care about anyway!
they both have similar minimum thickness levels,
Shimano are 1.8mm when new & they recommend replacing at 1.5mm. I measured mine at 0.9mm once..... (i check now!)
Cheers - never run Hopes with Shimanos and vice versa so wasn't sure.
