Help! I want to swap my Avid brakes for some Shimano XT M785's which I believe are post mount, but I'm not sure what adapters I would need to do this, can anyone help please?
Pics of front and rear are as here:

The current disks are 185mm up front and 160mm rear, but am I right in thinking that whilst I'll be able to use the rear 160mm disk I will need to buy a 180mm or 203mm disk for use?
Any help appreciated.
Front - you've got post mount forks. You can't get a 185mm shimano disc / rotor so I presume your brakes come with it. If not, yes you'll need a 180mm one and also a shimano 180mm front post to post adaptor
Even if they were the same size you'd still need a shimano adaptor to whatever size disc / rotor it is as you can't use (*) an avid adaptor with a shimano caliper because they are aligned slightly differently.
Rear - you've got IS mount. You'll need a shimano 160mm rear IS adaptor (or a different size if the brakes already come with a larger disc).
Shopping list: -
New 180mm disc / rotor (if not already got)
Shimano 180mm front post to post adaptor
Shimano 160mm rear IS adaptor (or 180mm if already got)
And yes it is complicated 🙂

(*) I once bodged avid adapters to shimano calipers with extra washers / etc but it was a faff. YYMV

Hmm, you're better off looking on ebay as the 6 bolt 180 mm rotors are really expensive on wiggle
Thank you kind sir. Your wisdom is much appreciated 😀
