My pads are about to need changing and I have the choice between another set stock SRAM sintered like are on there at the moment and some uber Race Matrix I got in a sale some time, possibly after a couple of beers.

Anything I should be wary about switching to a different pad ?  I won't be changing the discs, so is there any specific bedding in to be done or just pop em on ?

Ubers are decent pads, Most pads need a bit of bedding in - the latest trick from the Santa Cruz mechanic, is to dampen them with a bit of water, rub the pad surfaces together until you can feel them getting a bit more 'bitey' then install and ride. Works well for me.

Yeah mainly just wondering if I have to fart around cleaning discs to remove some old pad material given they I'm changing.  Not sure I can be arsed but if someone tells me I'll die if I don't I might 😁
