Can I put Magura Royal Blood oil into Shimano XT brakes? Both run mineral oil so can I put one in t'other? Hope so - save a few pennies as I have a stack of Magura oil.

I used the halfords one fine. If it's mineral oil it's fine. Again there is no mineral oil cow in the Shimano factory 🙂

Only problem with mixing fluids will be warranty
As the colour is not the same.

For me I use lhm in place of royal blood or shimano fluid

At work we use the correct manufacture fluid bit not Becasuse there seems to be a performance differnace

Lhm is the mineral oil used in cars mostly Citroen and Bentley/rolls
Its the mineral oil sold by car shops.

Some say it causes more drag than shimanos own but I've never noticed
