[Closed] Brake caliper. How stupid am I being?

So I'm almost but not quite entirely convinced it's a down right stupid idea, that it won't work and will make a lot of work for me to do then just undo...

My frame it seems is designed such that only a brake caliper with inboard hose routing will play nicely.
My brake caliper has an out board hose.

It's a post mount frame and caliper, Formula R0.

Can I just turn it round and mount the caliper back to front so the hose exit is inboard and rear most? This might sound simple to check but that same hose routing is likely to require I bleed the thing at least if not rehose it completely so I'd rather have some faith it should work (I'll even take might) before I try.

On all the brakes I have the mounting holes are very offset so if you turn it round the body of the caliper will stick out and the slot for the disk will not line up, in fact it will be outside the frame.

Perfect thank you!

That'll be why it never occurred to me when building it but that now I'm looking at face on photos of the caliper where that's not obvious it sounded vaguely plausible!

If I'm understanding what you're saying correctly, no you can't. Try mounting the front one like that and you'll see why.

You'd need the post mounts to be inside of the disc for that to work.

Aye, as soon as Nick mentioned the holes it was a forehead slap moment.

Sitting here looking at the caliper on a screen I'm trying to figure out if it'll shift the pads to a different radius, if I can rotate the banjo far enough, etc. but the mounting holes being 10mm off centre isn't visible.

Bloody obvious it wouldn't work if I had it in my hand though.

I had this issue on an old bike with both Shimano and Hope brakes before they moved the hose inboard on the later calipers. You can get aftermarket hose kits that use different shaped banjos and bolt setups to move things around, I used a Goodridge kit on that bike. Didn't Superstar do a similar thing?

Can you mount the hose to the bleed port and vice-versa?
