I have switched calipers and levers and whatever i do while bleeding (following avid instructions to the dot) whenever I finish there is nothing at all in the lever - it just goes all the way to the handle bar. What the hell I am doing wonrg. Is there some special procedure to get the fluid in when you completely drain the system. I have tried 3 times and each time is the same. its driving me nuts. Brakes are Juciy 7's. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Epic bleed kit if they do one for the juicy.
spelling was aborted in my rage!
What you are doing wrong is not using cable disks.... 🙂
Worn rotors maybe ?
Don’t follow the Avid instructions – they are overly simplistic.
What is probably happening is you’re trapping a bubble of air in the master cylinder – this is a common problem with Avid’s and there was a great post describing the technique needed on this forum a while back, but I can’t find it using the search tool.
Basically half fill both syringes with fluid first, and then squeeze the fluid back and forth several times between the lever and the caliper – pressing the lever back to the bars several times during the process.
Then bleed the caliper first, with the lever held back tight against the bars.
Then release the lever and squeeze the fluid back from the syringe attached to the caliper slowly while pressing the lever in and out – stop before you let air into the caliper and replace the screw
Then bleed the lever – again press the lever back to the bars several times while doing this.
Decent syringes make the whole thing much easier if you access to some.
What did you do wrong?
I read down to Avid Juicy.
The seals are terrible, and once they go, they're impossible to get a good bleed on.
I'd buy some new brakes, personally. If you want cheap and cheerful, get some Shimano Deore or SLX. If you want to upgrade, get some SRAM Guide R.
Well.....managed to get brake working. I tried Phil's advice and it worked. Basically pumped fluid back and forward, squeezed the lever off and on then bled the caliper and lever and it looks to be good now. A ride tomorrow will tell! What a drama for something so simple!
