I’ve been assembling parts for a single speed build and now I’m very nearly there
Next on the list is brakes…
I have this frame which is currently boxed up but can get better pictures if needed
I’m looking at a set of these brakes
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/shimano-slx-m7100-disc-brake/rp-prod188515
Rotor size yet to be decided but probably 180
What adaptors am I likely to need to make all this work together?
Thanks in advance, all
Look like both front and rear are IS brake mounts so you'll need a front 180 IS and rear 180 IS of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252002929400?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=p5EP7AAZRf2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=6YfCa0A_QQi&var=550866356224&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Uberbike look like they do something similar for £9.99 an end too.
IS mount on the frame and fork in the pic.
IS to 180 PM ADAPTER. Just bear in mind the front and rear are specific for IS. (IIRC)
I’d read somewhere that is was IS, always good to have these things double checked by people who actually know what they’re talking about
Will have a look at the links shared
Would 160 on the back not be fine? Don’t know how easy finding an IS calliper would be though.
Don’t know how easy finding an IS calliper would be though.
Why would you need to? Just use an adaptor.
Rear is always 20mm less than the front (so a front 200mm adaptor is rear 180mm)
Why would you need to?
Because life isn't taxing enough.

IS calipers are/were crap as you had to shim them
It's moot because not one (aside from maybe Hope) makes them anymore.
That being said I prefer the IS interface (with a post adaptor) as putting threads that are used for caliper adjustment on Magnesium Forks and Alu/Carbon frames is awful idea, unless a threaded insert is used, which is what Nicolai do I think.

I always thought that but I've never seen a damaged one (and I've seen / worked on a *lot* of bikes)

Hope stopped that with the M4 Evo.
I suppose one advantage of IS mounts is you can shim them for non-boost hubs and just align on the adaptor as normal. Shims were only a PITA as every hub seemed to have a different offset (unless you dropped one in long grass) but if they didn't they would have been better as they would align every time you took them off. I suppose you could achieve the same thing with a pair of feeler gauges on PM though.
Rear is always 20mm less than the front (so a front 200mm adaptor is rear 180mm)
Thanks for that @squirrelking, always good to know
IS tabs with post mount adapters is the best of both worlds, god knows how you face post mounts if they're out of whack, Hope had a cheapish facing tool for IS, it also made removing and reinstalling Hope calipers a breeze, no need to faff about re-centering the calipers every time.
I recently bought one of the new Commencal frames and weirdly it has an IS mount brake. So one of the old IS mount adapters in my spares, for many years, came in very useful. I've also got an XTR IS mount brake on another bike, which is nice. It's not crap at all.

This. I used Hayes HFXs back in the day. Used to laugh at the IS users struggling with shims to get things aligned.
