A few searches of various terms around BPW and kids reveals no responses, so here goes with my questions:

How suitable is it with a normal sporty, not particularly bike-centric, kid of 12 on an Islabike Creig 26?

Looking at the blue and red run videos I know he can ride it comfortably, but are we going to be constantly moving out of the way of faster riders or does waiting a bit at the top separate the speed merchants from the also-rans?

I've just checked and I am amazed to note weekend passes are booked out through to mid May (where pre-booking currently ends) Is there an alert-system for when extra days are released or is it one every 24 hours?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

The reds are probably a lot harder than you think but the blues are easy at low speed (and hilariously fast and entertaining at high speed). Bear in mind that the riders set off in clusters so if you're the last to set off from your bus I doubt you'll have a problem - even when running all 5 buses you rarely run into traffic.

Yes, it's very popular!

New start to one of the red trails, from their Facebook. Not difficult but it'll need confidence! Nothing like that on the blues, they're like a bike rollercoaster.
