Sorry guys, I have searched but there didn't seem to be much from the last 6 months, and I've heard alot of work has been done at bike park Wales.

I realise is very subjective! On Sunday hoping to go for the first time on the uplift. Has anyone got any must do trail recommendations for there?

Generally like very steep techy trails, and not so good at jump. Can do jumps, providing they are rollable.

Apologies again that it's a repetitive post. Many thanks

The trail map gives you great detail between jumpy, jumpy flowy and tech.
You will shit yourself at how good it is.
In a good way.

I'd try to do as many as possible! Dont miss out the blues and reds as they may not be steep and techy but they are a lot of fun. A470 and poppety ping are both jump trails (rollable), also enter the dragon which now has some massive jumps so maybe leave them if your not keen on jumping. Half cut, and escort are more techy/steep.

Sixapod & Willy Waver are usually the first run for me, & still rate as firm favourites. The A470 is better if you can have a go at jumping, even if your wheels probably just clear the ground like me. 🙂
I like Terry’s Belly but it does carry on for quite a way when it could spot you out closer to the buses.
There are a multitude of options though, probably more than a single days worth to get the best out of it. Hot stepper is a laugh, there are some good drops but, providing your moving, get your weight back & all are doable. Be wary of someone skidding to a halt in front of you as the bottle it. 🙂
The little trail from the cafe to the buses is good too. 🙂

All the jumps on the blues and reds at BPW are rollable. I'm not really an airtime kind of rider, but the A470 trail is still great fun if you take it at speed and squash the jumps.

Vicious valley taken at full pelt is nicely rooty and techy in places, and there's a couple of extra black lines on that side of the hill that are pretty steep and technical.

Tbh just try everything. It's all good 😎
I always start off with a blue or easier red to get my eye in. Do a couple of red runs next, mix up a few blacks and reds after lunch, then chill out a bit on the last run or two.

If you're on it and riding well you can get a good 10-12 full runs in a day.
Or take it easier, session a few sections, and do 6 or 7 uplifts.

Like the OP I also like steep tech and hate jumps/tabletops; my favourite trail at BPW is Sixtapod!

There are very few places with an uplift where I can go flat out top to bottom, pretty much without braking and Sixtapod is one of them.

As for the other trails, the list above is spot on. I also like the lower (ie below fire road) black runs like coal not dole, deep nav, zut alors

Surfin’ Bird is a nice red, technical but not jumpy

Usually start with Terry's Belly (flow Blue) into Hot Stepper (technical red, with rock drop offs) back into Terry's Belly.

Roots Maneouvre is pretty technical and natural feeling for a red. Dai Hard is one of the easier of the long blacks without any jumps.

Vicious Valley into Bonneyville is good for what you like.

My favourite is Insufficient Funds, but it's not rollable.

Dai Hard into Coal Not Dole or Pork Belly!

Into coal not dole now that pork belly has been reworked as a flow/jump trail.

Other favourites are:
Hot stepper into 50 shades
Vicious into Escort (when it's not too wet for the slippy off camber!) Bonneyville when it is
Or just simply root manoeuvres

OP I am also at the park Sunday, looks like it'll be a cold one! I agree with this list:

From your description…

Root Manoeuvres
Vicious Valley
Rim Dinger
Coal Not Dole
Deep Navigation
Bonneville
Hotstepper

Thanks for all the replies guys. Had a fantastic day there yesterday.

Managed about 10 uplifts, and a nice lunch.

Root Manoeuvres was the favourite run of the ones we did. Viscous valley also great!

Had a go at escort and 50 shades of black, but some nasty steep drop offs with little time to experiment.

Overall, fantastic day with great suggestions. Will be going back for more

Escort is short & sweet. It's fun to hit it blind. The first left is decidedly awkward & the drop is a challenge the first time, as it's so blind into the landing. Once you've hit it once its great 🙂

This reminded me to check the BPW uplift availability- they've got tickets available everyday for the next 4 months! That's pretty rare. I'll be off there in the next few weeks then 😀

Personally I love their flowy trails. Means you can get more runs in as you conserve energy, with the odd techy one thrown in.

I'm with Souster, root manoeuvres is also my favourite especially when it's filthy wet and muddy.

Took my 13 year old on roots, back in October, thankfully it had been dry. Definitely a faster the better run as it seems to keep you out of trouble. Wed been twice before and we still haven't ridden poppetty ping.

Did root manoeuvres for the first time last year and it was in the snow and slush, it was brilliant but needed a coffee and some cake afterwards
