After a 4h drive to Wales I just realised my dvo fork axle is at home...any chances the shop at BPW has one in stock??

does anyone know of any shop that can have one in stock i the area??

(cant state how pissed off I am with myself)

Fingers crossed someone will be able to help and lend you one or point you to a local shop.

Middle of the road option, hire a bike.

Blow the cash option, ask the shop to fit a new fork.

Hope one of theae works out for you.

Might be someone in Cardiff...

Failing that, as above, hire a bike.

Good luck, and happy trails!

Yes, at least I’m in a bike centre so can hire a bike, I’m quite pissed as this is the first time something like this happens to me in all my cycling years.

Unable to help I'm afraid, but I feel your pain. FWIW Over the years I've managed to arrive to go kayaking without paddles, spraydeck, biking without wheels, caving without a lamp, ice climbing without crampons. I'm sure you realise by now that I'm a bit forgetful.

Now that I think of it, it might be my chance to try an electric one..

Or just hire a bike, pop round the back and borrow the fork and put the rest of the bike in the car and then swap it back when you return it 😉

or just hire an electric one as you say! Only that will probably cost you £4k when you decide you want one.

There are a few bike shops in the centre of Cardiff that may be able to help you out ,

cyclepedia , sunset cycles, don skeene all very good shops and very helpful, also not to far from bpw (45 mins)

Just looked online and saw one on Amazon for £95 but shipped from the USA! I suspect that is over RRP but still, I don't understand why axles cost so much.

£40+ for a glorified QR.

Pop to screwfix and buy some 15mm OD pipe, some insulation tape for packing out any slop and some M10/M12 threaded bar and nuts and cut up a beer can to protect the thread in the fork and make a bolt up axle 😀 (don't blame me if it goes wrong)

What model? I've got a spare pair of non boost diamonds if you want to borrow the axle from them? Live in Cardiff.
