I had to postpone mine again as I read that the Welsh government are still not allowing travel into Wales unless for work etc

So did I but apparently not.... I contacted BPW and they weren't sure, I decided it wasn't worth the risk of a fine so suspended the booking again.

Interesting that they are going with a blanket ban approach as opposed to - please come if you are from Tier 1 but not T2 or T3

I'd assumed that cross border travel was still banned until the five day sportsfest family Christmas meeting window.

I think if Wales do allow people to travel over 5 day Christmas window the same as England then BPW could be pretty busy

I'll be OK with it, but my boy will be massively disappointed as he was properly excited this morning.

I didn't even bother booking a ticket, just waiting until the new year to use my last rebooking.

If you've just gone push up though might be worth just seeing if you can go, worst they can do is make you swim back ;o)

Well, there's a £120 fine according to Gov website and with 3 bicycles hanging off the back of the Mondeo it's likely to look pretty suspect.

Has he been to Windhill or Rogate? Both great bike parks and Rogate rides really well in the wet due it's sandy soil and it's not too far from you as you are near Swinley IIRC

Yep there's bound to be plenty of Police waiting the other side of the PoW bridge looking for cars just like that. Plus it's not even just the fine it's also that it's taking the piss a bit when you know you shouldn't.

Neither yet no....I was well up for BPW as it's a bit more about me as well as him. When we go to somewhere like Rogate it'll be 99% about him as i'm so far from being a jump god like him. So i fancied BPW as it gives me something to ride too.

I think we may end up at FoD.

Yup, not supposed to travel and even in the 5 day Christmas window it's only to visit one of your Christmas bubbles, not for a jolly to ride your bike in a trail centre.

@weeksy

I think we may end up at FoD.

We went Saturday - it was excellent. Pedal up isn't that bad, plenty of options for doing sections and then heading back up rather than all the way to the bottom.

We got there at 8.30 and the carpark was pretty empty, but by mid morning it was getting busy. Out on the tracks it wasn't at all busy

There was a Hope components VW transporter in Cwmcarn carpark yesterday. I doubt if it was a Welsh Hope Sales Rep 😂

Is that actually the case though?

My plan is to have a family session at Llandegla on Christmas Eve. I've not seen anything that says that is not allowed, and more importantly I haven't seen anything to suggest it is morally wrong.( In comparison to the other things people will be doing during the window)

Happy to be corrected though....

I was planning a Cwm Carn jolly on Boxing Day. It would be nice to have some clarity on the matter.

@weeksy bring your wellies if you're planning on going off piste , you'll need them!

Excellent. Glad it's worked out for you. I was booked to go tomorrow so doesn't make any difference for me as the rules don't change until 6pm Friday, but I'm hoping to rearrange to get there either just before or after Christmas.

Somewhat cold, well, very cold. Bit wet. But it's Wales.

Other than that, top little adventure!

How did you get on without uplift?  Bit far for me to travel to spend most of the day climbing but is it OK?

I've done it before back when it first opened so knew what to expect and we'd planned accordingly.

First half is steeper than the 2nd. So we got to the 4/5 distance and sessioned popty ping for the jump kids. Then up to the top for the Red Wibly Wobly which was kinda tough! Then more popty ping, then a run down Terry's Belly to finish. Then a sneaky Norkle at the end for jumpy fun.

The bottom half of climb isn't nice. The top half is a generic fire road trundle.
