Probably falling foul of the 'close, good, cheap - pick two' rule, but anyone know of good, cheap, close accommodation to BPW?

I stayed at Twin Trails B&B last time I was there, close, very reasonably priced and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. Great fry up to start the day too.

While I was working up the road from BPW I stayed here:

Studios at Glenthorne (has bike storage and are really nice people)

Also this place up the road (don't know if they have storage though)
Nant Ddu

Can't recommend anywhere else as I stayed in Cardiff for the vast majority of my time.

If you're prepared to substitute "cheap" for "value for money", you could try The Grange...

We always use the Castle Hotel in the centre of town.

We stayed at Twin Trails as well. As above, can't really argue with it and it was a nice spin into BPW - only 10/15 mins. Sh*thole little village though. We went out for a drink and ended up in the one which we thought we were least likely to get murdered in.

Want to plan a return trip but I really don't mind paying the extra for somewhere decent to kip with secure bike storage, maybe self catering. Anything like that near by thats a ride in?

The Butchers Arms, be prepared for the unique customer service! We've just enjoyed our second stay and will be back next year.

Nant Ddu

Definitely won't come under the cheap option but a very nice place 🙂

We've stayed at http://themountpleasantinn.co.uk/ on numerous visits to BPW. They've always been great and we're returning again next month.

The castle hotel is a death trap waiting to happen, avoid.

Some good suggestions, thanks. Hopefully I'll get the uplifts sorted when they are available at the weekend/early next week, then get on with the digs.

We've done the Butchers Arms - basic but more than suitable. And actually found the landlord and landlady really sociable unlike a lot of peoples experiences.

Also stayed at Coed Owen Bunkhouse - again nice, good facilities and a kitchen included if you are cooking.
