Just been out for a nice little 5 hour mtb ride, and part way round headed up to Box Hill on the way back over to Mickleham Common. At the top of the chalky bridleway, waiting to regroup in the car park at the back of the NT cafe I notice some interesting litter. 16 CO2 canisters just left lying on the ground in the side car park. I know that's where awesome sportive rider bike support vehicles park, wouldn't it have been easier to pick up your 16 CO2 canisters, put them back in the box you took them out of and take them home, or to your business, and recycle them. You don't have to now, obviously, as we cycled home with them, and they'll be going in our metals recycling.

Could be N2O canisters? I'd think it more likely to find a pile of them in the corner of a carpark than CO2...

Well, I suppose that the local yoots could be parking up there at night and doing some extreme sodastream action, but they look just like 16g CO2 cartridges.

N2O = nitrous oxide (aka laughing gas, aka "middle class crack")

This explains a lot now as, coincidentally in the woods on Ranmore, i came across loads of empty cream cartridges.

Thought someone was having some weird cream party but now I know it was the N2O they were after and they're used for whipping cream...

You usually find a deflated balloon nearby too.

Just got back from box hill, lovely spot. What's going on at pebble hill? Been closed for weeks.

New water main...whole road shut until January. Pain in the backside personally as so much easier driving to work via pebble hill road rather than up box hill zigzags

Definitely 'hippy crack' / 'trippy whippy' chargers and not CO2 if you found 16 of them.

That is, unless someone was really unlucky that day and had a considerable amount of punctures.
