You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Off to 'bleau at Easter with the family and got a poorly shoulder, so will be mainly biking. I've heard various things over the years that you can bike on the tedious forest roads but not on the Bleu paths or windy narrow singletrack. My French isn't up to much so haven't been able to get a definitive answer.
Anyone know if I'll get fined?
Had a quick Google and there seem to be some vtt circuits. There are also some dedicated pedestrian circuits where vtt are banned.
when we went, we had some rest days where we used the bikes to geocache. The place was really deserted away from the bouldering sites and we didnt get any bother or see any forbidden notices.
Yeah, I've ridden a fair bit in 'bleau and never had any problems. Much of that time spent getting lost following dead end tracks, as the sections of good singletrack are surprisingly sparse given the size of the forest.
If you're going to be in the trois pignons area then I should have some routes that piece together the best bits.
Marked mountain bike trails only, "cheeky" singletrack is forbidden. The forest soil and the rocks are very fragile. There are signs at most car parks that tell you where you can and cannot ride and explain that the restructions are to safeguard the forest for future generations.
rule#1 don't be a dick
I would recommend a visit to Le Petite Reine bikeshop and get a forest map... its very disorientating in there at the big forest junctions with eight route options.....
Cool, cheers all. Yes will defo be at 3 pigeons for a bit.
The obvious option is just to throw a mental dice at each junction and see where I end up.
Then try to get back again
But don't want to get arrested.
Or indeed violate rule #1
