So, replacing the bottom bracket on my hard tail, which is Shimano HT2, standard fayre.  However, decided that I may as well get a 2nd as they are only a tenner on CRC, in readiness for replacing the starting-to-creak BB on my Rose full suss.  Looking at it, it looks exactly the same external Shimano HT2 as the hard tail but it also has "press fit to BSA non-drive side sram" on the perimeter of the BB shell?

Is this an adaptor?  Can I still get the external MT800 or do I need the press fit one - cos it looks screw-in to me.

Please help.

You may have a press-fit adaptor to threaded BSA adaptor already installed in the frame? They're usually bonded-in with a permanent grade of adhesive, so just leave it in there.

Perhaps it’s a works adapter which presses into the shell that allows you to use a bsa screw in B.B. like the ht2.

Looks like you have a press fit 30 frame, with a pressfit 30-threaded adapter, with a threaded BB, so you should be able to just unscrew the BB and fit a new one as normal.

No issues unless the pressfit adapter moves in the frame, in which case I would bond one in (assuming you want to continue using threaded BBs)

Thanks Bigyan.  Yes, that makes sense.  And yes, I know where I am with the HT2' screw in jobs.

Appreciate the help.
