My fun single speed currently has an SS BB-70 Shimano BB in its EBB shell. I have read that the XTR equivalent is a better unit. Can just replace it with an SM-BB93?
The old one is creaking under load now, so time to swap it out.

It's not really any better ime- different seals but they seem to be functionally equivalent.
Just don't go down to Deore- the bearings themselves aren't as good in those
