New cx bike doesn't have any mountings for bottle cages. Don't want bar or seat mounted cages and we all know a camelback on the road is as wrong as risers with bar ends. Any alternatives to moutning cages in the traditional locations?

You can buy cage clips.

They look like plastic cable ties but have a threaded bits in them.

I've got a spare (redundant) VIP Bottle Cage Clips thing.
Might work - like a pair of zip-tied clips that you then screw a bottle cage into. Yours for token amount if you want to try it out..

Decathlon do a quick-fit version that will fit any frame tube, round or any shape.

Price approx £4.
