Hi all, I'm having problems with my forks, I recently had them serviced at j tech, now there knocking on the first inch of travel between compression and rebound, the rebound knob doesn't really do any thing, and I have to put 50 psi in them to get 25% sag, they used to take 90psi to get that, has any one else had this king of issue? Cheers chris

Are they sucking down when you let the air out? If they are, pump them up until you get full travel, then slowly let the air out to the pressure you want. You need to equalise the pressure between positive and negative sides as you do it by pulling up on the brace every few psi.

Have you spoken to J Tech? How long ago did you have them serviced?

Mine are off there in a few weeks to sort a leak from the rebound adjuster.

I had them service on the31st of july this year, they went back last week for knocking and theyhadmissed a worn glide ring on the service,I gotthem back and have been out with them, they still make the noise, when I phoned them up they said it was just one of those things, there's nothing wrong wih them! My rebound adjuster look wet at the moment? I think I'm going to send them to mad elk cycles where they use Bos seals and Bos oil!

When I had mine I was led to believe that this is a symptom of incorrect oil levels, which in turn is caused by not bleeding the damper oil.

BOS say the damper oil must be bled before setting the level otherwise air remains in the damper and creates this knocking noise. The gist of home bleeding it was along the lines of filling it with oil then leaving it for about 12 hours to allow all the bubbles to rise to the top, then adjusting the level. I ended up sendign mine to surf sales who services them fine.

Surf sales were one of the many distributors for Bos, I doubt they touch anything bos related these days. What have jungle got in place apart from actually selling bos products? I've not heard much in the way of setting up servicing or heard of any after sales issues (or not).

The Reason they don't work is because they forks will have cavitated. J Tech might have put in too thick oil old AMX3 oil was Thin oil about 3wt
You don't pull up on the brace you actually push down on the forks to equalise them. About an inch & hold for About 3 secs as you pump up the fork every 15-20psi
And yes I know as I used to service for Surf Sales
Jungle took over from us in Jan 2014

Thanks, would the oil cavitate in the damper side? Is that why I would need less air to achieve sag?
