So an enforced day off but can't ride the bike. Had an angiogram yesterday through my wrist and can't drive of lift for 24 hours. So I spent a productive morning ignoring (some) of the jobs list my wife left me. (Yes OK I've done the tax return and switched car insurance). Then had a coffee and cleaned my bike.

A few years ago I always envied people's bikes on here. What seemed to be "dream" bikes for other felt out of reach to me. But a few bikes later I ended up with not one, but two of MY dream bikes. A full sus Ti bike, and a Zaskar LE with XTR.

So here's the ti bike. Apologies about the light in the pics. It's hot today and bright.

Nope - that shock shaft just clashes with the forks, get it sorted man !

Kashima or black, pick one, not both 🙂

Interesting point - should forks, dropper and shock all coordinate? Much like seatpost and stem back in the day?

It's hard on the eyes, I know. 🙂

I'd love some new 34/35s in orange with the k-coat but funds..... Currently it's a non-boost XT hub and rim on 150mm RCT3 Rev's. I'd like to upgrade to forks and front wheel, and upgrade the brakes too. It's got Deore on there at the moment which are fine but the goal would be 4pot xt up front and a 2pot on the back.

I've had all the pivots and bushings replaced bar the upper linkage which was fine.... But has started showing a little bit of play - I knew I should have done that but it's on the list to do.

Oh, and that's a Tahitian lime the bike's in front of. Orchard is a little overgrown at the moment.

The stem is worse than the shock.

I do love an STW photo-post-fail.
Takes me back to the old days, as does people dissing a really nice bike over colour clashes and valves not lining up.
Still waiting for the Zaskar.

It's hard to be supportive with all the "sorry for the pics, it's the sunshine" vibe going on.....pissing down in Devon right now

@zerocool - I'm surprised the pics still have to be hosted elsewhere, flickr etc. Seems a bit antiquated.

Agree with all the comments. Really sorry it's sunny and warm here. Beyond my control.

And yes, uploading photos is simple everywhere else you just need a special code, the secret handshake and the 32 key hexadecimal upload code token to post pics. I used to be able to do it. Now the same method doesn't work. Anyway.... The Zaskar....

Pasting BB code "for message boards and forums"

It's rather upsetting that nobody has criticised you for having odd rims.

Not really. I've already explained. Does it upset you? Or did you miss the post where I explained it?

I was just coming in for that one. I find that more jarring than the fork and shock!
Also a green stem when you've got blue accents elsewhere... pick a theme and stick with it man!

The zaskar with sid? - I've got nothing, lovely bike

So things don't match? Naww. I'm just using what bits I already have, and as mentioned the forks and front wheel will be upgraded. I'm still not getting matching wheels. And dissing the Kashima coating seems odd but hey, everyone's entitled to an opinion.

The Zaskar flies btw. My flat bar gravel bike, or whatever you kids call them these days :p

sh1te

At some point last night between 8 and 10......

Both bikes were stolen from my garage. BOTH BIKES!!! I'm absolutely fked off.

Was windy and raining last night. Both bikes were there at around 8 as I'd moved them in the garage. Stunned around an hour later when I asked my wife if she had moved them for some reason.

Typical innit. Make a post about how you've taken years to get "dream" bikes and some plank just walks off with them.

They are insured but probably not as they weren't locked together and I have a horrible feeling the insurance won't pay out.

Wifes calling cops now (9am) as I'm at work. A little angry. Trying to crack on.

FFFFFFFSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

That's truly effed up.

Are you in Perth? Is there a stolen bikes FB page you can post to.

... not making fun, but at least you've got some decent photos to help find them.

Bloody typical innit? Like when you post that you've not had a puncture for ages then you get one. Make a post about you've finally got to "dream bike" level and some fwit(s) just takes them 2 days after the post was made!

Not a happy bunny. Cops not interested in even coming round. Got a crime number, they're insured, make a claim. That's it.

Missus is going thru CCTV from the neighbours around the time they went. Not that a dark, grainy, rain swept image will be any use but at least I can see if one bellend rode off with 2 bikes, or there was 2 purps.

Just absolutely gutted.

Was smiling as I saw some pics of nice bikes then wallop, the theft bit 🙁
There are some ass holes in the world !

Could be worth looking at CCTV for the last time you brought one of the bikes back from a ride, see if you were followed or any dodgy looking oiks cased the joint as you put the bike away.

Might get a better picture of potential oik when they aren't actually on the job as it were.

I live up the top of a cul de sac so it's not like passing walkers could have a nose.

Weird thing is, I thought I heard someone walking around the front of the house the night before but I convinced myself it was in my mind. Next night: gone. So maybe...

All done under the cover of darkness / wind / rain / storm.

I'm more annoyed about being a tight git and not really considering replacement costs for either bike that equate to like for like replacement. Stung me last time and I felt I needed to save a few $$ on the premium than pay more for actual value. What a muppet.

If insurance pay out then I should get $4500 AUD. Minus $100 excess. But it all depends on how nice the insurance company will be.

sorry the thread went from positive to negative so spectacularly.
