We've a Islabike Cnoc 16 and Beinn 20 and need to get a boot mounted bike rack (apparently this is non-negotiable). I'm looking at how show a Cnoc 16 is and wondering how likely they are to fit on a random rack.

Anyone got any advice? The Thule 968 looks reasonably priced from Halfords at least.

Thule Clip-on 9103/4?
Works for 20 inch bikes and no kerfuffle with straps. 16 inch wheels fit in the boot far easier than on racks, but it's manageable.

If the car doesn't have a spoiler then the Pendle boot rack is pretty good - it won't fit all cars though.

The boot this time will be full of bags, and may have dogs in.

The 9103 looks a lot like the 968 apart from having a slightly different way to attach, is that right?

Yup, it has metal bands rather than nylon straps.

Don't bother with a Saris Bones, total pain in the arse to fit kids bikes onto. Very disappointing.

Don't buy the Exodus rack from halfords. the straps to put the backs on are ill-thought out (likely to cut your hands), awkward to get to and take ages to use.

Always had good experiences with Thule bit never used their boot racks.

We used to have a Bones and sold it because it was a pain to get sussers on too - never buying one of those again!
