On my current commuter I've been running a 130mm BCD Shimano Tiagra FC-4600 crank with Surly 40t chain ring and Alfine gearhub. Now I've bought Genesis Longitude frame and tried to fit my current setup and hit the wall - crank does not fit! Looks like the road crank has too short spindle. Obviously I'd like to use my 40t 130mm BCD Surly chainring as it's still in good nick. Does a 130mm boost BCD crank exist? What other options do I have to run 40t Surly chainring on Longitude?
You have a 73mm bottom bracket shell so that rules out all road chainsets AFAIK. I'm not aware of any mtb chainsets that use 130bcd chainrings.
On my cx bike I fitted some sram mtb crank arms and replaced the 4 arm spider with a road bike one.
