Currently I just use insulating tape to keep them on.
It doesn't last very long so looking at something a bit more robust.
Your thoughts please.

Superglued then two or three wraps of insulation taped. Lasted yonks.

Heat shrink either won't be strong enough to hold, or, if it misaligns slightly when applied will need to be stripped and redone.

I've had some cut down Gorilla tape on there for ages. But I don't take my wheels on and off very frequently.

tried superglue but they worked free. It isn't a big deal when putting the wheel on so never bothered again.

I asked this very question a week ago, and haven't bothered doing anything since.

I'm thinking I might 3D print a little collar and pop a dob of epoxy on to retain the caps...

If you're really really keen you could always drill a couple of teeny holes 1mm or so deep into the washer thing and the hub end cap and then pin and glue them in place.

Doesn’t everyone just try and catch them as you undo the axle and hope they don’t bounce off in to the long grass / muddle puddle / down the drain?

Had some spare rear hope pro4 142mm end caps and Velosolo adaptors. 1mm hole drilled and pinned.

Then I bought a boost hub to build the 29"wheels. I'll likely try it on the 27.5" rear for a mullet if i ever get the next frame.

I’ll probably snap the bits drilling the hole so 2 birds 1 stone.

Ha just remembered my top tip from last time this came up - get brightly coloured ones.

I bought new hubs in the end and rebuilt the wheels.
