Theyre crap in the mud.
and that's a surprise?
No tyre that size will be much good in mud. Too much floating over the top. That said, I don't find them too bad in the wet in general. They're VERY like my all time favourite tyre, the Bonty Jones ACX, nice rounded profile that leans over and stays put, and a good all round tread pattern.
Yep, I got 'em cos they were like the Jones ACX, alas the weather like it is, I'll be needing something offering a little more grip.
Any recommendations?

Good(er) in the mud?
Dirt Wizard.
Dirt Wizard +1
Bomboloni seems alright in the slop but only tried one out back so far...
Dirt Wizard I've rode was most excellent.
Where'd you get the Bomboloni's from Clubber?
If you email Sam @ singularcycles he might still have some.
I think the bomboloni is going to be the goto 29+ tyre.
Really nice size (big) and shape, good for a mix of terrain
What about the fat B nimbles? Any good in the shite?
fat b nimbles look like they'd clear nicely but don't look to offer enough tread for the deep...
Apparently the Bdontragers (left) are almost identical to the Bombolonis.....

I was initially disappointed when I got my bomboloni, I thought the tread pattern was not deep enough and would not grip the slop.
Somehow it works... Still only tried it on the rear though, singlespeed mind so it has had some sloppy mud pedal stamping climbs thrown at it.
anyone tried the BULLDOZER!!! ??
Update: with the slop getting worse I don't think I'll be taking the dirt wizard off the front for a bomboloni...
This was very deep mud though...
bulldozers are a bit well...sketchy in deep mud, cracking tyre for general use and tubeless set is easy. The answer we are looking for is duro crux 3.25 as jeff is using on his 29+ jones. just got to wait for the buggers to appear!
