Hi,
Typical/usual tyre conundrums has led me to the Bontrager XR4 2.2. However I am worried how large they are.
They will be replacing MaxxisAdvantage 2.25's. But the Advantages have very little clearance under the arch of my Reba SL's.

I would like the Bonty to have more clearance - will the Bonty's have more clearance?
Surely someone out there is running this combo?

About 6mm clearance if I remember correctly. Tolerable in the dry, not so much in the wet.

Get the new ones I say, I rode them on a trek demo and they are a big improvement.. and I like the original ones. This compared to a Maxxis Minion 2.35 is pretty much the exact same size.

Running this combo in 29 er flavour and it doesn't leave much gap but I've never had an issue as the tyres shed mud easily.

Got one on the front of my bike with a 120mm bolt through Reba.

About 6mm of clearance as stated above. It's been fine through the summer, am questioning how soon I'm going to have to swap it for something smaller now that the trails are softening up. Got to be said though, it's both very grippy and sheds mud very well, so going to give it another ride or two first...
