Hi

Any experience? Is this fairly straightforward? Is there a service manual anywhere?

Thanks

I did mine last week. I just followed a YouTube tutorial.
By servicing, I just took mine apart, cleaned it, re-greased it and put it back together.
Mine was slipping, so without me pushing the level the saddle would lower. Now all hunky dorey. Surprised how easy it was as I’m a complete clutz when it comes to home mechanical fixes.

The newer ones are very straight forward, as mentioned above. If there's any play in yours, if be tempted to splash a tenner on new key ways and seal.

Thanks

There no play but is slow coming back up and jams part way up occasionally. I have regreased as per the video which has improved it but it’s still pretty ‘lazy’. No sign of any wear that I can see

Any ideas ?

My monies on the top bushing that split one. Replaced mine on a Brand X which is a similar (not identical) design post, without rebuilding and hey presto normal service has resumed.

Edit: There was no visible signs of wear on the bushing itself.

sounds like it could be an expired cartridge - had one here on a slash that was a little sticky, then a lot sticky, then wouldn't come up without a tug. Was 'serviced' several times but wouldn't get better. Trek have a new cartridge on the way for it under warranty. Speak to the dealer you got it from.
