I've got the vaypor xc's. They fitted me straight out the box so I've not heat moulded them but I like them. They have the full carbon sole so I use them on my road bike too.

Tick as I've got the road ones which are great and have considered the mtb ones too.

Just wonder about how robust they are as the treaded parts are just bolted on at least as far as I could see.

I've not had a problem with the sole grip off road, but the stitching on the insole of mine tore slightly when I caught it on the side of the pedal clipping back in. Because they are a full carbon sole with minimal grip, if you miss the pedal, the sole slips off them & it's easy to catch the side of the shoe instead. In my opinion they aren't brilliant for continual off road use but on the road bike it's been a non issue.

I bought them because I wanted a pair of shoes for both the road bike, CX & mtb. I also now have a pair of goretex winter boots I use for mtb from september - March ish

Using Bonty RL MTBs at the moment. I got a good deal on them and have been pretty happy actually. Well one of the ratchets broke early on which I think is a weakpoint but the guys at the LBS took one off a shoe on the wall to get it fixed straight away (Cycle Centre in Newcastle). Fit and stiffness is good and off-bike grip is fine for an XC shoe.
