There's been loads of prototype linkage forks. Loved the Lawill Leaders but could never afford a set. Ran Girvins for a while, not huge travel but great ride and quite light.
Solutions on that bike are looking for a problem...

Were actually pretty good unless you wanted to stop or corner ... oh.
you replace the spring (the green carbon strut in this instance) to tune the spring weight of the bike. Rebound is handled by an oil damper sitting in the head tube -
It has got rebound adjustment so probably better than a Lauf, but my god it's ugly.. 😯
