The ancient boiler in our house has finally packed up and is being disconnected..
so looking to get a new one installed..
British Gas are coming to give us a 'frightful shock' measured in millions.. as we have had their homecare agreement and used it loads to keep this boiler ticking over for the past couple of years..
has anybody any recommendations for a good independent Installer?

Slightly OT but FWIW, I can highly recommend Baxi boilers if you're going for a combi.
We've recently put them into two of our properties where not so old boilers have not lasted or, in fact, ever worked that well (never buying Worcester Bosch again - I though Bosch bit would mean it was quality...) and they are ace and come with a decent warranty.
