Got a big one, right in the groin, can barely sit down atm. Lately I've been OK with good bibs and Assos Chamois creme and talc after showering but I still tend to get one every 2 months or so.

Any tips for prevention?

Sudocrem.

Clean the shorts occasionally 😉

Probably bacteria or ingrowing hairs, wash for one, not much you can do for the other.

Get some antibiotic cream from the quack and splash it on. Clears up more quickly. I bought some over the counter in the US recently when I had a similar erruption.

I have a repeater on my Larse, use my kids dry skin stuff, better than sudocreme. Always give it a baby-wipe to keep sweat free at every oppurtunity and it keeps it away.

Shorts are cleaned after every ride 🙂 I'm using sudocreme now on the offending item.

Nothing else magic then...? 😥

Alovera if you want something on the natural side. Or tee tree oil.

Best thing for prevention is assos and the right saddle.

See the quack! 😉 they may have some ideas. If in growing hairs - regular sack and crack waxing might help.

Not something I care to think about but someone had to say it!!

Don't use talc, can block the pores and set off a boil. Scrupulous hygiene, sudocrem smearing and a clean silvaguard wicking pad.

See the quack and get a qualified opinion. I did with similar and the dermatologist was not keen on Sudo cream. His comment was it has more preservative that anything else in it.

I've started using Hibiscrub soap, seems to work

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Economed-Hibiscrub-500ml/dp/B002ZGREKQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Can't believe that's out there - I'm new here!

I've used canesten hydrocortisone cream with an anti inflammatory in it - about £6 a tube in boots - works really well.

What Twin says. It is what I was prescribed by the Dr.

IME a poor diet lead to more boils. Do you eat plenty of fruit and veg and avoid fatty foods?

Pliers and a tissue 😯

See a proper consultant about it as they never clear up and reoccur, draining and leaving open to heal from the inside is how one of mine was dealt with although that was extreme due to me ignoring it and it put me in hospital
I seem to be prone to them as im hairy but a good wipe or antibacterial spray regularly keeps them at bay

Matt

Had my first one ever this year.. It was in my arm pit and hurt like HELL!!! Cleared with antibiotics.

I feel for anyone who gets them often.

I don't know if I'm more scared of the hospital comment (imagines feet in stirrups and matron with tweezers) or asking the Turkish girls down the road in the beuticians to wax my gonads :-/

Hospital and op was ok- I was out for the count, the doc said something about a surgical spoon and scraping it all out
😯

It was the four weeks of going to the nurse(who was fit) to have it repacked every day where I lost all sense of
Dignity, lying on ones side with one knee to your chest and the other in the air was shall we say "shrinking material" just when you dont want it to 😳

Don't know about shaving, but certainly might want to start regularly giving yourself a run over with the clippers.

That and change to good old fashioned Wrights Coal Tar Soap (a proper mans soap!)
