Just been looking for some new brakes and found these two ebay ads with the same pictures from different sellers. Id say the first one is the bogus one given the more detailed photographs in the latter. What do folk think?

(UK one) Feedback OK and seems to be currently trading, though no recent bike stuff except this and a stem

suspect they (UK one) couldn't be arsed to take their own pics - why would you bother for a "brand new" item ? Guess they're off a new bike or else has got 'em cheap somehow and wants an easy profit (must be quite a savvy trader generally after 900 transactions)

(are xtr brakes symmetrical or could these be Left front/ R rear ?)

OK, so he's bought a bike from the US (maybe europe), wants to keep the frame & some bits & figures he can pert-finance this by flogging the unwanted stuff to UK market

Edit, hmmmm pert-finance ?! WHere can I obtain such a thing ?

ive done that before with ebay. taken new stuff off a bike and used an image off the web cos its better than i could take myself. as long as the item is in immaculate condition i dont see the problem...

I always avoid eBay listings with obvious web images 🙂

Even if a seller claims an item is immaculate, I still want to see that it's immaculate!

If eBayists don't post actual pictures of their item I just assume they're hiding something and move on.

+1, not having a pic of your own item screams scammer, I can google image myself to see what the part looks like generally, I want to see what the seller's looks like.

Ive sold items listed as BNIB, and took pics to prove they were still bagged/labelled etc and wouldnt consider bidding on something without a genuine pic. The fact the OP is suspicious points to the value of going to the minimal effort of taking and posting your own pic.
