You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
We’re up staying for a week at Boat of Garten 2nd week in Oct. just wondering if anyone as knows what trail are over the A96 up past Drumuillie towards Carbridge. Also is there a good loop taking in Burnside -Carbridge - B of G?
Thanks in advance
For linking BoG to Carrbridge and Burnside there are a few options, generally though you'll have to find sensible routes across/around the main roads and the rail line. There are obviously underpasses handy for the Carrbridge trails behind the old sawmill and for Burnside in Aviemore itself. You can also cross both close to the junction of the A95 and the old road north, just west of BoG. You can also get across between the cemetery and Avielochan if you ride through the woods past Loch Vaa. These bring you out at either the northern edge of most of the Burnside tracks or the southern edge of the Carrbridge stuff, and linking north south is pretty obvious on the ground. That middle bit seems to have the least fun stuff though - but no doubt there is something there that the locals use.
For BoG to Carrbridge, there is an obvious route more or less north from the Primary school, and again crossing the Grantown road just by the Sawmill N of the village. From family I've heard rumours of fun stuff between these but a few short explorations never amounted to much. Would be good to have some local knowledge on this one.
And a longer loop taking in Loch Garten area, Forest Lodge, Ryvoan, Meall a Bhuachaille, Glenmore, Badaguish, gets you between BoG and Aviemore with some other good bits.
Is there still the XC course in the woods at Badaguish?

Not a course as such but unmarked trails, yes.
Best way to Burnside from Boat is crossing the A9 at Kinveachy lodge then up the track into the woods. Way quicker than the Aviemore underpass.
Haven't found a way to link Burnside and Carrbridge, despite a couple of exploratory expeditions crossing under the railway line heading towards Carrbridge.
I've never found much to ride in the woods north of Drumuillie, looks like there should be though. If you head up the wee road opposite the Boat turn off on the A95, up the track, left before the farm and into Docharn wood, you'll find a handful of fantastic trails up above the Carrbridge walking paths. 10 mins ride from Boat.
Don't overlook the local woods at Boat itself, excellent wee bits in there.

Here's the map for the Aviemore Triathlon (MTB) being run weekend after next.
Drumuillie is an interesting question. I've only been through there once and thought there was potential for more than I saw.
The whole area around the Fairy Hill in BoG is riddled with singletrack. It's my go-to place for a quick hour on a SS.
Go past Docharn farm house, through the gate and then a wee singletrack climb to find the trails off Docharn Craig. One is occasionally marked with red paint so find that and follow it.
There are some nice trails off Carn Lethendry too. Go up from SW end, under the pylons, cross the fence and take the obvious descent. Once at the gate, go through, turn right, through another gate then look for singletrack in the woods on your left.
I did have a look around Tom a Thomaidh Mor NE of Carrbridge and there have obviously been tracks at one time but treefall and lack of use makes it a pointless diversion.
Excellent, thanks all. Will be having a good explore around. If time allows was thinking about an recce up Carn Ban More and along Sgor Gaoith as far as Argyll Stone then looking at a nice zig zag decent off Creag Follais. Any info or better tips on this. As stated time/weather will be At play here.
Cheers
I was up the "classic" CBM climb from near Ruigh Aitcheachan and off SG to Achlean last week. The Allt Ruadh descent is currently the favoured one though.
