Got hold of the frame cheap so thought i'd build myself a trail bike. I've built it with the usual kit hope pro3 wheels/1x10/xt brakes, but i'm stuck on what forks to get. The bike as standard is specced with 120mm forks so i'm assuming i should stick with that? I quite fancy something with a bit more travel but don't want to ruin the handling, maybe someone that knows a bit more about geometry than me can help?
It'll be used for mile munching in the peaks, the focus of my riding though is 30% up 70% down.
I've had Fox before and liked them. 32s? 34s (reduced to 120)? Pikes? Revs?
What year and model Boardman is it?
Pro 29 - 2014 I think (the grey one)
Im pretty certain the 2014 versions were only 100mm. I have the 2016 which is 120mm
Mine is very confident inspiring with 120mm Rebas. Personally i think anything more than 120 would spoil it. It is an xc bike after all.
I'd stick with rockshox too personally.
