There may be a couple of slots available for a BMX session next Monday night.

8:00 - 10:00 pm
National Cycling Centre, Manchester
£15 inc. hire of bike, helmet and pads

Anyone fancy it?

Stick you name on here and we'll sort it out. It would help if you have a contact email in your profile.

Can I bring my 24" cruiser or do you have to use the hire bikes?

BTW owning the above is no indication of ability, I've only had it for a couple of months and have only managed 1 trip to Bruntwood BMX track so far (plus a few spins to the shops) 😳

That track looks like it needs more skill and balls than I've got in my locker.

Right then…
8:00pm at the National Cycling Centre
Followed by a pint, a pie and stories of how awesome and rad we all are (for a bunch of 40 somethings with bad knees) in The Church Inn, Prestwich. M24 1AJ.

Here is how not to do it.

Make sure you write your blood group and ICE number on the soles of your feet with a marker pen 😉

Seriously, we go at our own pace and the instructors start us off slowly. So far NOBODY has managed anything approaching what could be considered a jump.

Is this a regular thing? I'd love to get involved, 0% experience on a BMX though!

Rorschach was doing some pretty nifty jumps the time I went.

dazh's looks like a pretty good effort too. Everyone else was pretty rubbish though 🙂 (including me obviously)

Once every 5 or 6 weeks throughout the winter with a bit of luck. It depends if :

1) enough reliable people are interested

&

2) somebody is prepared to pay £200+ in advance to book it

Another “top do” last night and nobody got killed!

The plan is to go again in about a month and carry on where we left off regarding the skills sessions. We’ll keep the group size small again as we got more done than we did when there were nearly 30 of us there.

To make organising this easier and reduce the risk of “no shows” and losing money it would help if we had a better mailing list. So, if you came last night and want to do it again can you send me and Gaze (email addresses in our profiles) your name, your forum name and your preferred contact email address. That way we can get a bit more organised and work out who is who. Also, if you brought mates who are not on this forum can you get the message to them so that we can include them in the future.

Fanks.

HTS

after 3 hours power sanding lead based paint in the hallway I wasn't fit to drive, let alone ride a BMX.

Still don't feel right now!
