Has anyone got experience of the bluegrass golden eye helmet? Maybe the met helmets too? Specifically the gel pad at the front? How does it work in reality? Does it work in reality?
Fed up with a sweaty front foam pad and getting a sweat waterfall over my glasses meaning I can’t see where the hell I’m going. Sounds like these gel pads will funnel all that to the sides?
My recent fox flux purchase is the worst on this but my badly fitting urge AM works well.
I've recently bought the Goldeneyes & I'm afraid to say that the gel pad does bugger all to keep the sweat out of your eyes. It's not long enough to divert the trickle to the sides of your brow & even if it was there's 2 strategically placed vertical grooves that just let it run down the front of your face 😥 . That said the helmet fits fantastically, is light & just doesn't move around once adjusted so I'm happy to wear my Halo headband to deal with the sweat thing.
If you have a problem with sweat, best bet is to wear something under your helmet, like the assos robofoil or giro make something similar, made to wick the sweat and control the situation (and much better than a buff).

ha ha thanks simwit for saving me £100!
And an extra layer on my head - I get hot enough already?!?
Surely there must be another way
I've got a Met Sine Thesis roadie helmet with the gel pads, because I didn't like putting a soggy helmet back on to come home from work.
Downside is that the water just pours uninterrupted straight down your face, I resorted to a headband in really hot weather but the buff thing works surprisingly well

They don't make you hot, they help keep you cool.
Bula?
the idea of the gel pad sounds great, but i saw the channels and thought wtf?!
