I have a second hand nomad wondered if any of you guys use blind bearing pullers for your linkage?
eBay do some for around £30.
Worth it?
Yes
We got a set last year which work great. Also bought the kit for putting the new ones back in
Are these the ones with the sliding hammer?
Tracey, am I right in thinking a bearing punch can remove all bearings except the blind chainstay ones on Specialized bikes?
Make sure they are small enough for all the linkage bearings. I bought one and only one of the pullers was small enough for all the bearings on my bike and after using it twice it lost its bite and stopped working. I sent it back.
As always there is a reason tools cost money and you get what you pay for.
I bought one from seller rjebearingpress (<£30 del), what a fantastic little set, did all my Anthem bearings in 5 minutes. I'm sure it would remove them too but I'd already done that with socket&hammer.
Got one of these
and one of these
Done every thing we have wanted them to do so far
This site was recommended to me. Someone on here was also trying to source the now discontinued Superstar extractors..?
Having just changed all my bearings with a threaded rod and socket set, I will be investing in an extractor and some decent drifts for next time.
Commenting so i can find this feed later on. Fancy that extractor that tracey recommends (thanks for link)
