Ive tried just using a tube as per the hope site but still get a spongy lever feel on my rear brake.
As anyone a guide on how to bleed hope M4's from the caliper using a syringe?
Thanks
Did you remove the top cap? Air has to go somewhere.
Try zip tie or elastic band round lever overnight then redo
Make sure your caliper pistons are all moving freely, and your caliper is centered correctly, as these can also cause a spongey feeling, and if possible try to make sure the hose has no humps/high spots in it as these can create air pockets that are difficult to move.
You need to follow the Hope advice, to the 'letter' - did you do that?
First off try flicking the hose as you bleed the brake, as this can liberate any 'sticky' air bubbles. Also try bleeding with the caliper higher than the master cylinder.
And don't forget that the rear brake with a standard type hose will always feel a little softer than the front brake or a rear fitted with a braided hose.

follow the instructions on the hope site - there are videos.

Exactly that. Make sure the bite point adjuster is wound right out before you start.
If it's the rear brake specifically you might have done what I did once and was corrected by the Hope support people. The rear caliper is mounted fairly flat, so if you have the bike in a stand with the back end raised its possible to get part of the caliper higher than the bleed nipple which will trap air in the caliper. Just make sure you have the front end of the bike higher than the back and that the bleed nipple is the highest point on the caliper. For obvious reasons this is never an issue on the front
