you need the special bucket, and a bit of hose.

Syringes make it cleaner, but not essential.

i bought the little shimano funnel and a shimano squeezy bottle and hose. very easy.

tbh this kit looks better though and negates the need for funnel buying, or bottle squeezing:

you could get these bits cheaper separately, but can you be assed for £11.70?

The 'Epic' kit makes it a doddle & they have 'how to' vids on their website too - HERE

I tried the Epic kit and it didn't work that well with my M785's. I found the Shimano funnel thing worked pretty well. The newer Shimano brakes aren't as easy to bleed as the original ones which were so easy its untrue.

Funnel on top, syringe at the bottom and push fluid upwards. Easy peasy!

Thanks for the referral guys.

Our kit does work well with the new Shimano brakes and we've sold a good few hundred up to yet with no issues.

Our videos section leaves a lot to be desired at the moment but we will be updating it soon.

There is a guide to bleeding the new Shimano 2012 brakes on our site though, check it out here:

I'm using the funnel system which works well. They recommend to use a bag on the end of the hose once you've pushed fluid up using a syringe. However, I kept the syringe on last night and used it to help 'suck' the fluid back down like with the avid system. Worked a treat and I got loads more air out using this method. Much cleaner too. Two really good bleeds later I'll use this method again

Do this, very easy and it works.

If you want better value then buy Motul LHM Plus Fluid from ebay instead of the Shimano rebranded stuff (it's the same), get a 50ml syringe from ebay/chemist and some plastic air stone tube from a pet shop.

It's the plastic tubing you can buy in a pet shop for fish tank filters/air stones. I have a spare metre if anybody wants a short length?
