Tried bleeding my old minis and there's no letting up with the bubbles in the brake fluid in the hose from the bleed nipple ( hose seems a tight fit) and there's no pressure build up in the lever. I've topped up the reservoir around 10 times and when I've bled hopes before this has been more than enough to sort them.

So I'm thinking it's drawing in air from somewhere? I've had a quick look at the hose end fittings and both seem tight, should I try new olives anyway?

Also can air be drawn in at the master cylinder, seals need replacing there perhaps?

TIA

Could be the master cylinder seals. Unlikely to be hoses - they would also leak fluid

Is it an easy job to change the master cylinder seals?
If so, I've seen this service kit on CRC

I replaced all the seals and bits in my M4 levers and popped some new seals and pistons on the calipers. Easy peasy and as good as new.

g_r, I'm not an expert but I had the same problem last year. Called my very helpful LBS that I got the bike from who advised that if you pull the lever too hard before undoing the bleed nipple each time it can create this effect. Used less pressure and it seemed to work fine.

Other opinions from more expert bleeders are available

Also have you made sure all the air is removed but using rubber hammer taps?

http://www.cyclistno1.co.uk/features/maintenance/hope-tech-brake-bleed.htm

"Pumping the brake lever a few times, also giving the lever a tap with a rubber hammer, will remove air trapped in the lever."

Thanks guys, I had another go today and the same was happening. I'll try again tomorrow trying the suggestions and if no joy will order some spares.

I ordered the one from CRC and ordered the spring separate as mine was shot.

I've got a hope "little bleeder" bleed kit for sale if you're interested. I've used it twice and got a perfect bleed each time.
